When Oz first drew up the plans to the OZ-03MD Virgo II the prevailing thought was to improve on the OZ-02MD Virgo I's defensive capability by increasing it's speed and mobility, by adding two shoulder binders which would add variable thrust geometry to the Virgo's ability. This would radically affect the units speed and agility. Taking this concept further Oz began research into increasing the thrust power of the Virgo beyond that which a normal human could endure. The thought was the Virgo's could be most sparsely armed, saving massive cost on weapons development while presenting a greater threat to pilots by over whelming their reaction times.

The development began quickly on OZ's lunar factory, where three units were rolled out for testing, however, before these machines could be deployed for the first wave of performance testing the Treize faction, having allied with White Fang, took over the base and three units. The machines were given a proper field test, the new binders and added thrusters not only reducing the units weigh,t but delivered a bone shattering 11.4G's of lateral thrust. The forces generated from a single maneuver actually exceeded the durability of the Virgo II's computer system resulting in all three units breaking down quite frequently during intial trials.

This didn't deter White Fang however, the internals were removed, and the computers were rebuilt using Gundanium Alloy as the supplementary material for the parts prone to failure. While increasing the cost of the units rather significantly it allowed them to perform much longer during initial testing. After the testing phase was complete however, White Fang chose not to go ahead with the line. While the units succeeded in lowering the cost of weapon development by reducing the number of weapons it could equip, they drastically raised the cost of fuel, do to their high consumption rates, and expense in producing the line since they required an increased amount of Gundanium Alloy, which was still very expensive and hard to produce. White Fang did however field the 3 units which were lost in Combat during the Eve's War, unconfirmed reports have them being shot down by Treize Khushrenada, leader of the Earth Sphere Unified Nations.
